How to Fix a Website That Won’t Load

Trying to visit a website, but it just won’t load? Here are some quick troubleshooting steps to get it working again.

2. Restart Your Router

A simple router restart can often fix network-related issues, especially if your ISP is experiencing temporary disruptions.

3. Clear Your Browser Cache

Corrupted cache or cookies can sometimes cause loading issues. Try clearing your browser cache and reloading the page.

4. Try a Different Device or Network

If the site works on mobile but not on your WiFi, your ISP may be blocking access. Switching networks can help diagnose the issue.

5. Check for DNS Issues

If a website isn't loading, your DNS settings might be the issue. Try changing your DNS to a public one like:

  • Google DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
  • Cloudflare DNS: 1.1.1.1

6. Disable VPN or Proxy

Some websites block access from VPNs or proxies. If you’re using one, try disabling it and reloading the page.

7. Flush Your DNS Cache

On Windows, open **Command Prompt** and enter:

ipconfig /flushdns

On macOS, open **Terminal** and enter:

sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder

Still Not Working?

If none of these steps worked, the website could be facing serious downtime. Try again later or contact the website's support team.
